Of rainbows and chalices

That bracelet-in-progress I posted a picture of a little bit ago is finally finished!  It'll be donated to my church's charity auction fundraiser this fall.  It's a Unitarian Universalist church, which is why I added the hammered silver chalice charm.  I may enjoy its sparkle out and about a bit before the auction arrives.

Most of the beads are crystal, but I couldn't find a yellow bright enough, so that one color is a faceted dyed agate.

Winter is coming!

I was trying to figure out why the air conditioner was coming on last night when the temperatures weren't high enough to trigger it, and then I realized it wasn't the AC - it was a much cooler than expected breeze coming in the patio door! (Also couldn't resist working in a Game of Thrones nod!)

I actually made this a few months ago, but had forgotten to list it. Enjoy!

A Year in the Making, day 322

Today, the eyes were happy! Yaaaa! I wore my contacts for only about an hour and a half yesterday, then went back to my glasses. I realized this afternoon that I hadn't put them in their soaking solution, and they just sat overnight in a bit of water from when I rinsed the case out. So I'm trying an experiment today, thinking that maybe, just maybe, my eyes had suddenly decided they didn't like the solution I've been using. I got a different brand of solution and am giving this a go tonight. Cross your fingers for me, okay? I have to do an awful lot of driving tomorrow.

I did two variations on the same design of earring today, a longer and shorter version. I usually go for longer styles, because small ones get lost in my mane, but some of my friends like the smaller decorations. They have pearls, of course!

There's really just over 1/2" difference between the lengths of these two pairs, but it looks like so much more, doesn't it?

We will be snacking soon on the husband's infamous crab dip. It was supposed to be eaten at a party today, except I did a boner and got the date wrong - realized at about 12:30 today that the party was actually last night! Color me a heel.

Gratuitous food shot before I sign off for the evening, last night's dinner (with the husband's beer - my Pimms' cup was mostly empty by the time this was ready to eat):

A Year in the Making, day 263

Weather was beautiful this morning. Finally, I thought! The munchkin and I walked to school sans coats, and it was good. And now it's cold and rainy again. At least we enjoyed it while it lasted.

A little bit of virtual summertime for you this evening. This necklace was made as a part of a beading challenge - 2 beads, 10 JETs. 10 of us on the Jewelry on Etsy team received the same two yellow-orange shell hexagons. They looked like honeycomb cells to me, so I went bee-hunting this afternoon, and I finished my entry this evening.

Who knows what my 9 teammates will come up with!

For those who like sets, I also did these to match:

Off to make myself a hot cup of tea, and snuggle into the blankets with the nice warm kitty.
