Of rainbows and chalices

That bracelet-in-progress I posted a picture of a little bit ago is finally finished!  It'll be donated to my church's charity auction fundraiser this fall.  It's a Unitarian Universalist church, which is why I added the hammered silver chalice charm.  I may enjoy its sparkle out and about a bit before the auction arrives.

Most of the beads are crystal, but I couldn't find a yellow bright enough, so that one color is a faceted dyed agate.

More old/new Celtic knots

So I finished up going through my y-necklaces yesterday, remade several pieces that no longer seemed to be in my stock anymore, and today I started going through my Celtic knot necklaces. I retook pictures of 10 necklaces today, have two more to retake, but also discovered 18 of this style that I had never listed. 18! That's insane! What was I not thinking when I made these? I worry about my moron-ness sometimes.

So here's a bunch of things that I've had but hadn't listed, and a few things I had listed but didn't have:

Hot Pink Freshwater Pearls and Celtic Knot Necklace

Black Onyx & Milky Quartz Celtic Knot Necklace

Malachite and Celtic Knot Necklace

A Year in the Making, day 357

I will clean tonight. I will. Really!

I'm using my personal day tomorrow for my birthday, and it'd be nice to not spend the whole day cleaning. I'm thinking I should go see a movie, at least.

I just got my vendors' packet for the Medieval Country Faire two weekends from now, at Volunteer Park in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. The Seattle Knights will be there, which is always a treat!

I'll be spending a good portion of my free time next week making sure I've got everything tagged. I always say I'm going to price everything as I post it, but I never do. Silly me.

I got the fancy necklace finished a little bit ago, and would have made this post earlier, but I got sucked into Facebook and an hour went *poof*! Such a marvelous tool, the internet, but such an easy way to waste time too.

And the pieces from yesterday are now photographed and up in my Artfire shop as well:

A year in the making, day 356

Monday, sleepy Monday. Too much fun this weekend! But I survived.

I'm taking my personal leave day Wednesday for my birthday. Of course, I'll probably be going to spend most of it doing those little bits of cleaning I was going to do every day so I didn't have to do it all at once. I have spent years developing my mad procrastination skills.

Instead of cleaning last night, I was making more jewelry, and finished the second of these just a little while ago. Not listed yet, as I missed the good light, although photoshop and a good camera make up for these kinds of problems.

I noted at my last event that I really didn't have enough Steampunk jewelry left in the stock to fill out a full-sized table display, so I'm going to have to start working on that. Steamcon II will be here before I know it!

And another piece, hanging on to the last few weeks of summer, a sterling silver dragonfly with rose quartz and garnet. I actually got this dragonfly from the selection of sterling silver pendants months ago from Artbeads.com, as a part of their Beaders who Blog program**,but it disappeared mysteriously while I was still plotting what to do with it! Well, I found it last night, when I spilled some beads while working on the sofa. It was hiding under the cushions. I swear I looked for it there when I first lost it!

It's a gorgeous little bug, and it was originally supposed to be hiding out in my field of swarovski flowers in my Spring Waterfall necklace, but I think he'll be fine here with rose quartz and garnets instead.

**This post is a part of the ArtBeads Beaders who Blog program. They provide the beads to us free of charge, and we provide an honest review of their products. We are not paid to review or endorse them.

A Year in the Making, day 335

It's Friday! Not that it's been a rough week, not at all, but no matter what, you always get excited about an upcoming weekend, especially in summertime, and even more especially when the weather is predicted to be absolutely beautiful.

I'll be picking up some Italian prune plum trees this weekend, if all works out, so I'll hopefully have my own fruit to harvest for jam. I make a mean plum jam, if I do say so myself.

Playing in the black box today, which isn't entirely black, but has lots of interesting neutral stones besides the onyx and the hematite and the smokey quartz.

A Year in the Making, day 272

I'm in another photo situation. The camera battery is dead, and I can't find the recharger this time. Dangit. Finding one black piece of black plastic in a house that's filled with lots of black objects ... yeah, that needle in a haystack thing? Worse.

I spent the evening after making today's necklace at my second waltz class. One two three one two three. We were short gents this evening, so took turns leading, to much hilarity.

Two necklaces today, one from last night and one from tonight:

Now off to a night of watching Dresden Files on Netflix and sipping a glass of cider.

A Year in the Making, day 266

Memorial Day weekend! What are your plans for the holiday?

This weekend - through Monday evening - I'm having a sale in my Artfire shop, 10% off any purchase, still with free shipping for jewelry items! Just enter the coupon code "In Memory" when making a purchase.

I can't believe the end of May is just around the corner! That's month 9 of 12 in my challenge. I can't believe I've been doing this for NINE MONTHS. Three to go! Item count as of yesterday was 287, so I'm still keeping ahead of the curve. Starting to wonder what I'm going to do with myself once this is over.

I pulled out the garnet box today. My favorite stone. Expect lots of burgundy red goodness the next few days, as once I start playing with the garnets it goes on for awhile.

A Year in the Making, day 265

I'm celebrating today!

Celebrate!

Last night, I had my 100th sale from my Designs by Victoria's Etsy shop! Hooray!

Weather continues to be grey and gloomy and a little too cool. But I shouldn't complain, because that's better than a little too hot, right?

Here's today's silver lining, a new steampunk piece:

Now off to go play with electricity, because the lights just went off in half the upstairs for no reason we can determine. Booo.

A Year in the Making, day 264

Still grey, damp, and gloomy. Told the barista that I was tired of the three months of March we've had so far this year when I was getting a toasty beverage this morning. It got just warm enough to open up the French doors to the deck for a bit this afternoon, at least, letting me get my fresh air fix.

I received an invitation vie email this morning to vend at the upcoming Erotic Steampunk festival at the Little Red Studio in July! It's the weekend after the 4th, and hopefully by then Mother Nature will have gotten the cranky out of her system.

So, I was inspired to do some more Steampunk jewelry this afternoon, another, slightly different pair of waterfall watch bits earrings:

A Year in the Making, day 226

Arm was feeling fine today, no harm done yesterday it seems. So I added to the pile this morning:

More blue

And because that went so well, I made a new bracelet too, to continue the blue theme:

Blue Glass Dangle Bracelet

And I also baked bread today! I made two loaves, a herb & cheese and a wine & cheese. We had slices of the first with our salad for dinner this evening, and it was tasty. Warm fresh bread - yum!

A Year in the Making, Day 174

Just woken up from a long end-of-winter nap. Munchkin snoozing vibes, one of the most powerful forces on the planet. No sewing of buttons for me today. Yet, at least. I did pull out the thimble, though. I was early to bed yesterday again, too, as I had a very early day for the "day job". Did finally get pictures of the antiqued faux turquoise piece yesterday afternoon, though:

And today's piece, still for lack of a clasp but otherwise done:

This has become another cat-impaired post. Miss Nellie Kitty has managed to pin my left arm at some point when I was typing this up. I don't know exactly, when, though. Feline stealth mode successfully activated. Funny beast.
