Finally - pictures of the finished necklace. This is another entry in the ArtBeads Beaders Who Blog program. ***
The theme this time was "Summertime." I've never taken a summer cruise, but it's on my bucket list. I want to visit the tropics, mainly because I've always loved the crystal clear blue waters you see in film and in the pictures on travel brochures. So I decided to try to capture that feeling in this choker, another keyhole design. It uses iridescent pale blue Czech glass beads chosen from their Glass Beads section, and an intricately painted oval of Mother of Pearl from their selection of Pendants.
I spent a lot of time trying to decide which shade of glass would go best with the pendant. It's always hard trying to color match from pictures on a computer screen, but I'm happy to say that the bead shades were captured perfectly by the pictures on the website, and they matched the pendant even better than I thought they were going to when I actually had them in hand.
There's just shy of 100 beads in this necklace, and the remainder went into these earrings:
And now for the necklace - the Blue Lagoon Keyhole Choker:
