A Year in the Making, day 186

It's gotten cold again! Winter's last gasp, I guess. Actually drove through a snow flurry today! So I've taken a break from the green box to bring you another icy delight:

Sardonyx and Clear Crystal Necklace and Earrings Set

When we were going through the great basement reorganization, and bringing the obsolete furniture up the side of the house to get it into the van and off to new homes, I rediscovered the firewood I'd completely forgotten about, very nicely cured now, so there's a toasty fire in our future for this frigid evening. Also discovered that the moss has completely taken over the cement in this area.

Our mossy cement

Not so nice. Why couldn't it have taken over the lawn instead, where it'd be useful? It's trying to subvert our doormat as well. Fickle nature.

Mossy matt

It was one of our standard jokes, though, after living out here for a few years. We were originally only going to stay in Seattle for the time it took my husband to get his graduate degree at U of WA, but we've been here for 11+ years now. When folks asked us about it, the reply would be "The place grows on you. Like moss."
