Our local steampunk group, the SteamRats, were invited to participate in a promotional photoshoot for the Woodland Park Zoo's
Steampunk Tropical Expedition. I've got the perfect outfit already, but the munchkin didn't. We're cheating for basics, as we picked out a white blouse and some tan suede boots at Target earlier this week. I re-used the pattern from her
red and black outfit and pulled some linen and khaki out of the stash to make a skirt for her today:

Tomorrow, the plan is to make a vest to go with it.

How simple...you know, just the tossing in of khaki-toned cotton...Here I was thinking brocade and leather, and fretting, and you've handed me simplicity for potential future costuming. Thank you!
Costuming can be painless, I promise! Simple materials fancied up with lace work just fine, and are a lot easier to take care of, especially when sewing for wee ones.
